As part of the 2010 HEDIR Tech Week, I volunteered to talk about the value of blogging. My presentation was scheduled for Thursday of Tech Week. As I began pulling materials together, I decided goal would be to share basic information on the why and how to blog. Following my talk, I hope they will better understand the benefits of blogging and consider taking the next step towards the web 2.0 conversation.
Additional Assignment for those who wish to use this presentation to earn CHES continuing education contact hours, you’ll need to complete one of the following:
1. If you do not currently blog: Leave a comment here on your thoughts on the opportunities and/or challenges of blogging.
2. If you are currently blogging: Leave a comment here and include a link back to your blog and/or write a brief post on the opportunities and challenges of blogging.
Be sure to document which ever option you choose in the Additional Comments section of the webinar evaluation form.

Hi Michaela,
I have many blogs, most in portuguese, because my readers are mostly from Brazil and Portugal.
Usual blogers have more than one, most of the cases.
Cheers,
Jorge

Hi Michaela – thanks for sharing this topic. I just start blogging, so I’m in the middle of the 2 cases
and what I like in blogging, is definitly the ability to share ideas, thoughts with person across the world. What I find difficult, but I believe I’ll progress soon on it, it is the way to attract readers to my blog !
Here is my blog – which is a bilingual french/english blog on social media.

Great topic. I started to write my own Blog in 2005. It was my contribution to more openness. It wasn’t always easy because my board wasn’t too excited and then I had to overcome language and writing skills.
Then I found this text on my car mechanics wall:
This was most inspiring to me to overcome my spelling and grammar issues and choose the path of authenticity. I still blog today – and comment on others
My advice to people who start:
1) Just express your opinion – there is always somebody who will find value in it
2) If you read a lot – you may as well comment. Over time you may write your own blog.
3) Have nothing to say? You don’t really think so – don’t you?
